The Bible Computer Lab
&
Art Workshop PhotosHere are the first two computers we started with in 1990. They were donated by a family in the church in memory of their grandmother who had been a Sunday School teacher. We eventually expanded to five computers. In the early days, the software wasn't that great, but the kids and teachers had a great time. This is also the room where Neil MacQueen began training other churches how to teach with computers. He now does that full time with his company Sunday School Software. You can link to his software ministry's site here, but don't forget to come back!
A lot has changed in terms of available software and needed equipment. The one thing that has NOT changed since the beginning is the idea of teachers working right alongside the kids as they use the software.
Notice the S P A C E around the computers for kids AND teachers. That's something some computer labs forget to include in their design.
Here are Dan and Coco working on a Bible atlas program....
And now on to the ART Workshop ! (not really in the same room as the computers)...

In case you haven't heard...."CRAFT" is a four letter word in the Rotation Model.
We want kids to take time working with expressive media, not decorate dad's car floor with construction paper and glitter.
