Barrington's Main Hallway MuralWelcome to a tour of
The Presbyterian Church of Barrington's
Rotation Model Workshops

The following web slides were copies from real slides and "compressed" and split between several pages for faster downloading (unless you have a really slow modem or connection). Thus, the resolutions and a few colors here and there may not be exact.

For best viewing, open your browser to full screen width and set your screen display to 16-bit color and 800 by 600 if you can (In Windows, check your control panel, display settings).

You are welcome to print and share these pictures as long as the Rotation website address is included on the paper. For more information about these pages, email Neil MacQueen. For more information about the church's model, contact Melissa Hansche, DCE, at 847-381-0975.

A 7 x 10 PRINTABLE COLLAGE of many of these photos in higher resolution can be found at http://www.rotation.org/barringtn/barrcollage.htm The collage document is 140 kb and will take between 5 and 9 seconds to download on most computers.

Links to more picture pages can be found at the bottom of this and each picture page!

Welcome to the main hallway in our Workshop Rotation Area. Our children are greeted by a thirty foot long, eight foot high mural of Faith Champions. Each champion's pose and props were carefully chosen to teach children how we feel -and the champions feel, about God, the Bible, and our kids. All the murals on this tour were "conceptualized" by Neil MacQueen (who can't paint a lick) and created by Eva Sandor, a graphic arts student in the congregation. Several mural projects also included Sr. High helpers.

Our JESUS mural....

Abraham is cut off at the left. You can see Sarah, Moses, Ruth, David and guess who.

(Please note: the camera dates on the photos are wrong)

Jesus mural #2

Yep...that's John Calvin on the right up there. At the left that's Peter, then Paul, then a Crusader dude. Behind each faith champion's head is a band of landscape where we've depicted the various worship buildings used in the time of the particular heroes. Page UP and you can see the Tabernacle behind Moses' head.

This hallway was originally dark and cluttered. We relit it with track lighting on the mural (it is a work of art afterall) and painted the opposite wall of the hallway dark gray to focus attention on the mural. The effect is wonderful.
