Minor Prophet Flash Cards

We've been studying the books of the Bible in our Wed. Fellowship. PRONOUNCING the names of the minor Prophets has been a "major" hurdle. The kids seemed interested in tidbits about each. Example: Who's wife was named "Gomer" (older kids thought that was funny).

Have each kid create a set of "Minor Prophet Flashcards" as an art project. On front is the name (including phonetic pronunciation) and picture of prophet posed to represent something in his message/life. On back is a "Minor Fact" about that prophet. And a "Found after which book of the Bible" notation.

Prophet's picture could easily be "posed" using pipe cleaner. Small swatch of cloth cut to be the prophet's coat.

The idea here is to create a VISUAL that helps store and trigger student memory. The fact that it's a game as well makes the art project user friendly and likely to go home to "stump the family." Allowing each student to POSE the prophet and select swatches as clothing allows them to EXPRESS their conception of the prophet's words. All these things serve memory.
