January 2020 Rotation.org Enews
Welcome Donna Grabert and Robin Stewart to the Rotation.org Board of Directors!
Donna and Robin bring new enthusiasm and years of Christian education experience to the goals, governance, and day-to-day administration of Rotation.org. Long-time members of the site, both have also been members of our Writing Team. See their bios below. Read more about the Board and its work.
This month we also say an enormous "thank you" and good-bye to founding Board members Jaymie Derden and Anne Camp. During their tenures, they shepherded our site through many changes and challenges with creativity, humor, and chutzpah! Their fellow Board members will miss their caring and creative spirits.
Have you seen your new Ash Wednesday and Lent Forum?
We pulled together links to many of our existing lessons and resources that pertain to Lent, and added a bunch of new ideas as well! To help with finding lessons and scheduling them, the new Lent Forum also includes a cross-reference of Bible Stories at Rotation.org that are recommended in the Common Lectionary during Lent for the next three years. Check it out.
Writing Team Update
The Team posted its latest new set "Psalm 23: Good News for Sheep" last month. A new Team is now working on a set of lessons about The Lord's Prayer.
Become a Supporting Member of Rotation.org today to take advantage of these creative lesson plans!
New Board Member Bios
Donna Grabert is the Christian Educator at the Turning Pointe Church (UMC) in Evansville, IN. A self-described long-time "stalker" at Rotation.org, she had the opportunity to guide the building of a CE wing at her church to facilitate the Rotation Model. Along the way she has also been a piano teacher and church organist. Donna and her husband have six kids (now grown). Donna was on the Winter 2019 Writing Team and is currently on the Winter 2020 Writing Team as well.
Robin Stewart recently retired as the Children's Director at Athens 1st UMC, Athens, GA, so that she could help in the family business (a sheep farm!) and spend more time with her young grandchildren. Robin writes: "I began my long and steady relationship with Rotation.org in 2006. I have relied on it for insights and lessons all this time, and now many years later I am humbled to join the Board and have the opportunity to give back." Robin was on the Summer 2019 Writing Team.
Welcome, Donna and Robin, to the Board of Rotation.org!
