Teaching Native American children in Reservation setting

After spending a lot of time last year looking for Native culture-based curriculum to aid my white culture mindset as I taught in a monthly church rotation on Standing Rock Res., ND, I found some good stuff to adapt with rotation model methods. I'm putting this info on the exchange in case anyone else "out there" is as frustrated in the search as I was. If you go to www.wiconi.com and look through their resource menu you will find several units of VBS curriculum from My People International. As the organizing teacher for the Standing Rock teaching effort, I have adapted each VBS lesson in that curriculum with 4-5 rotation model teaching methods so that the same story is told in a different way each month. I would be glad to email any interested persons my adaptations for use in teaching in other First Peoples settings. gwist@qwest.net
