Questions:

  • Did Daniel worship the King? Why/why not? (No, he chose to worship God)
  • Do you think Daniel was afraid to go into the lion’s den? (Yes, no, maybe)
  • How do you think Daniel felt when the stone was pushed over the opening of the den and sealed him in with the lions? (Doomed, alone, confident, hopeful)
  • Have you ever felt afraid? (Dark, storms, high diving board, home alone)
  • How did that make you feel? (Alone, scared, nobody cares)
  • What can you do if you are feeling scared? (Talk to a friend, pray, read the Bible, remember a Bible verse or Sunday school song)
  • Why does God want us to pray? (Keep close to him – communicate with God – talk with a friend – so He knows we remember him – just like we would talk with a “best friend,” God wants us to talk with Him and keep close to Him.)
  • None of us are perfect. Some people think they are very close to perfect, but we’re not. We probably could all stand to improve our prayer habits. How can we pray better/more often to God? (Reminders around the house, some people keep a Christian coin or a cross in their pocket/purse to remind them – wear a Christian bracelet to remind them – before each meal – go to a quiet spot and really concentrate)

Close with a prayer.
