A song for reflection with older children and youth
"Live Like That" by the Sidewalk Prophets is an amazing and contemporary song. It's lyrics speak to the yearning to "live like Jesus" --which is what the Beatitudes are also calling us to so. In fact, you could call them "the Jesus-itudes."
Here's the official version from the band with boldly presented lyrics and images.
Here's the "lyrics" version.

"Live Like That" (excerpts)
What will people say of me
When I'm only just a memory
When I'm home where my soul belongs
Was I love
When no one else would show up
Was I Jesus to the least of us
Was my worship more than just a song
I want to live like that
And give it all I have
So that everything I say and do
Points to You
If love is who I am
Then this is where I'll stand
Recklessly abandoned
Never holding back
I want to live like that
I want to live like that
A Bible Video for Younger Children
Bedbug Bible Gang – Forgiveness, Love and Blessings! – they've combined 3 videos and the last one "Bunches of Blessings" includes the Beattitudes.
DVD Note: When you start the DVD the theme song starts, if you hit Skip once it will bring the menu up to choose one of the three videos. Pick "Bunches of Blessings" and when it starts hit the skip forward button 4 times and you'll be at the start of the Bee-attitudes segment. Total time 7:52. To see a another lesson I created using a "Bedbug" video which will give you an idea of how they lay their videos out, see my Holy Week Video Lesson.
Below is a clip portion of "Bunches of Blessings."
Note: it only includes the story section, on the video this is followed by a song based on the story to a simple tune - words on the screen. Followed by a game, "Can you match the 5 different items" where it pauses for a minute for the children to guess before revealing the answers.
