cozumelCozumel Mexico is a popular vacation spot and cruise ship stop, and now it is also home to a terrific Workshop Rotation Model Sunday School at the Iglesia Nacional Presbiteriana Eben Ezer (Ebenezzar Presbyterian Church)!

Caty Pech is the volunteer Christian educator at the church and she's also a Supporting Member of Rotation! She responded to our recent request for photos with part of her story too. We praise God for her ministry! ...and are blessed to have played a small role in helping her share God's Word in her community.

Caty writes:

"I always will be thankful to God for all those who make this program available for us. I attended a workshop in 20 years ago and the seed was planted in my mind and heart. But our times are not God's times. so it was until 2018 that we could start this program in the church down here.

It's been challenging for me because in addition to encouraging and training the teachers for this change, I have to translate the (lessons) every month. I am also a volunteer minister at an English language congregation on the island, and I am the coordinator of medical mission team -- in addtion to being the Christian Education leader and (serving on the) Liturgy team at the Ebenezzar Presbyterian Church. Enough to get crazy!"

Here are some photos from Caty's Rotation Sunday School

One of the things we noticed right off the bat is they like to dramatize their Bible stories!

This cellphone video came from their "Cooking-Seder" Workshop lesson from the Writing Team's Cross-Seder lesson found at https://www.rotation.org/topic...oking-seder-workshop (must be a supporting member to see that lesson).

Caty wrote:

"I was the teacher for that class. It was amazing to see all our kids sitting properly, listening and following the instructions perfectly. I was impressed. It was an awesome experience, I’m telling you. We had to change some of the Seder items including  we couldn't find pretzels on the island this year."

Note: We uploaded the video to YouTube on her behalf to fix a sizing issue.

Thank you Caty for being "crazy" with us!

Rotation.org -- a Global Resource for Creative Sunday School

Yellow represents a country or state where a registered or supporting member of Rotation.org lives. Darker = more members.

Location is determined by the unique "IP" address -- a user-location code generated when you log on to the internet where you live. We can drill down a bit to see "how many" of our members are in each country or state. More about "state stats" later!

Read the next post for STATE statistics. It will blow your mind...

Where do our U.S. Members Live?

By Neil MacQueen, "Keeper of Rotation.org Stats"

Our site stats tell us how many of our free and supporting members are registered in each state.  The visual below shows the relative numbers by shade of yellow and brown (we can see the actual numbers but can't show that and the graphic all together).

Naturally, more populous states have more people who can register for our site. For example, Texas has the highest number of free and supporting members. (Unfortunately, it's mostly "free" in most states. )

For sure, there are a lot of churches and rotation model enthusiasts in Texas! (Hook'em Horns!) And as the darker shade for Ohio reveals (Go Bucks) Ohio holds our second most number of members. As you might expect, we appear strong in the Midwest and Bible Belt.

BUT then we did an interesting thing.

We multiplied each state's total number of rotation.org members by a "proportional factor" used to equalize state populations with each other to come up with a PER CAPITA ranking.

And when we did this, the results were pretty amazing and somewhat UNEXPECTED! Three Upper Midwest states SHOT TO THE TOP OF THE LIST:  Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. And one state, Alabama, was much farther UP the list than we had expected. Roll Tide!

Now we definitely have "more" members of our site registered in Texas, but when you equalize its population with Iowa, Iowa has the most Rotation.org members PER CAPITA.

Rank when adjusted for # of registered and supporting members as a percent of state population

1.       Iowa

2.       Minnesota

3.       Wisconsin

4.       Tennessee

5.       Kansas

6.       Oklahoma

7.       North Carolina

8.       South Carolina

9.       Virginia

10.   Missouri

11.   Ohio

12.   Alabama

13.   Michigan

14.   Pennsylvania

15.   Georgia

16.   Illinois

17.   Texas

18.   New Jersey

19.   Florida

20.   New York

21.   California

We have super-strong members in all these states!  And more in some of the states that didn't make the top 21. (I included California, the biggest state, to show you where it ranked per capita).

One of these days, I'm going to break down which states our SUPPORTING MEMBERS come from. Not sure how that will pan out, but I can tell you that we barely have enough supporting members in all the states COMBINED to meet our budget, so each member counts!
