I have seen pictures of a page where all of the books of the Bible are displayed on book shelves. They are grouped according to their category: Minor prophets, gospels, etc. I would like to include something like this in our journaling folders, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. It would need to be the size of a regular sheet of paper--preferably like a coloring sheet. Does anyone know where I could find something like this?? Thanks.

Update: Coloring Sheets have been created since this was posted and are found below here.

Why don't you create your own on the computer? I would think that it would be more fun and more hand-ons on to do something 3D. For example. cover cereal boxes with construction paper and write the names of the Bible on the side for the spine of the book. the kids could do some and they could vary in size according to the length of the book. This would give all the children (and the adults) a clear picture that the Bible is 66 books. Not just one. Put them into order could be a game for the older children and young ones could build with them. You could make them out of wood scraps if you wanted them to last longer.
Big Grin We have just completed our 1st fall rotation (starting our 5th yr of WRM) on Bible Basics. The cereal box idea was part of our games workshop and certainly took a lot of my time to gather, tape/prep and cover with grocery bag (like a gift box), but was well worth it! We now have a great "library" of the books of the Bible. Start early asking folks to save their empty cereal boxes! It only took about a week, once I got the word out, and I still get asked (a month later) if I need more! NO(thank you anyway! Some rotations worked with the names, some with alphabetizing and grouping, and the older group worked on putting them in OT/NT and ordered. It is a great manipulative! My family room had all the cereal boxes (quite a study in church member's eating habits)lined up for several days, as I tried to group larger boxes for Psalms and smaller boxes for smaller books of the Bible. I only put the labels on when all were gathered, covered and sorted. If we'd had more time (next summer?) we will have students add major stories, parables and characters on the boxes, maybe.

A book called, "What The Bible Is All About for Young Explorers" as a black and white page with the bookshelf idea.

I also use the book for timeline pictures. It gives a great outline of all the books of the Bible and their main stories, and how it all points to Jesus.

The Big Book of Bible Skills,

published by Gospel Light has what you are looking for. The books are on 2 pages - look like library shelves. They are divided into Old Testament and New Testament and broken down into History, Gospels, Prophecy, etc. The pages are reproducible. Hope this helps!

Coloring Pages

Cathy in the first post here was looking for a colouring page for books of the bible.

I just created some in Word to use in the fall with our kids and have attached them for others to use.

9/23/20 Note: Sheets have been updated, as it was discovered that "Jude" was missing from the NT, I also made the book text clearer in all of them. Luanne

Thank you for all your hard work!

Luanne, thank you for the great Bible coloring pages.  I have taken the liberty to add your name and "from Rotation" to each page.  BTW, Check your title on your New Testament page.  I plan to include the coloring pages, one each week, as I prepare the "at home packets" with lessons on the Bible during the next three weeks.  Thank you for sharing.  Jane

Thanks! @Jane T Pait

I've updated the coloring pages to add my name and "from rotation.org" and thanks for catching my title error on the New Testament Page! I'm so glad to hear they were useful for your "at home packs." Blessings on your kid's ministry!
