We're excited to share the following "GEO LOGOS ~ BIBLE GEOGRAPHY" resources and videos from Rotation.org member Samantha Corcoran, a teacher at the Northside Church of Christ in Wichita KS. Samantha produced these videos for her church's "Geo Logos Workshop" which is part of her church's Workshop Rotation Model "Safari" Sunday School.
Using one of the workshops to focus on a story's Bible Background, geography, and culture has long been a part of the Bible Skills & Games Workshop mandate in the Rotation Model. Some churches focus more on "skills" (such as Bible background and geography), while others focus more on the games (to reinforce memory, for example). Most blend the two and many add computers and other media to enhance what takes place in this workshop. Some stories and passages of scripture lend themselves to certain types of Bible skills and activities.
Here's a video "tour" of the Geo Logos workshop's design led by teacher Samantha Corcoran.
Here's a video of Samanta explaining the Rotation Model's understanding of Multiple Intelligence learning theory and how the Geo Logos workshop fits into that.
Here are a few screenshots taken from the workshop tour video:
