- Luanne has posted links in our Bible lesson forums to all of the new Superbook Bible videos. See a review and link to the videos.
Luanne's review:
"The kids do go back in time and witness the Bible events as they happen. What I find nice about this is that they ask each other questions as they try to understand what is happening. I also really like that the truth they learn from the Bible story they can now see how it applies to their current situation at home." - Jesus Calms the Storm lesson
New video plus a great active reflection/demonstration. - Updated Music and Game ideas for Moses & Pharaoh, plagues, mud bricks, etc.
- Updated Fruits of the Spirit fruit-pizza pie and "fruit smoothie" lesson ideas.
- Road to Emmaus Games lesson with a great suggestion from a member.
- Several good Psalm 23 teaching ideas posted in reply to a member's question.
Need help with ideas for an upcoming lesson? Post it in the HELP! forum.
Clouds: Create big fun "3d clouds" on any wall by fastening a large cloud shaped piece of white muslin to a cardboard backing and stuffing it with poly-fill.
Instant Tree: Project, trace and paint a large tree graphic to the wall (or stuff brown fabric tubes with newspaper and fix to wall), then staple craft store leaves to the branches. Add pictures of kids as the fruits.
Instant drama backdrops: Paint 3 scenes on 3 inexpensive bedsheets: Village home, Temple precinct, Sea of Galilee & Countryside. Staple sheets to a long curtain wood dowel and hook to wall using curtain hardware.
Quick "Hebrew" Doorway: Cut and stack squares of cardboard "blocks" around the outside of your door frame and down the hallway for a "village wall" look. Sponge/smear a bit of lighter and darker paint for mortar and texture. Add plastic plants growing out of a crack in the wall.
Cooking & Art Clothes: Stencil symbols on (very) inexpensive surgical gowns (the disposable kind with elastic on cuffs). Customize inexpensive white aprons with scripture and symbols.
Video: Add glow-in-the-dark stars to the ceiling.
Savannah Wall Display: Surround a large piece of burlap of you've stapled to the wall with fake grass skirting or bamboo (oriental trading co). Display maps and art on burlap wall with clips.
Then view the results to see how others are running their program this summer, and what they think about effort vs benefit.
Their primary lesson workshops are: Storytelling, Art, Bible Skills & Games, and Cooking. Their church is blessed with a dynamite artist who always scores with lively, memorable art that reinforces the story.
Using an idea she found on our site, each age group has their own “flag” which helps late-comers find their class. Karen says her church has responded very positively to Rotation room decoration ideas.
“God led me to Rotation.org," said Karen, "and I pray it will open the door to greater learning for our children and greater participation by our teachers.”
And the Rotation.org community shouts, Amen !
