May Day Baskets

Since May Day fell the day after our Wed night activities, I had the kids make May Baskets. We used leftover plastic pots from our Easter Lilies (cleaned, of course!), and decorated them with ribbon, stickers, bows, you name it! Onto labels I printed "Happy May Day" (with "may" underlined and in bold), along with varying bible verses that contain the word "May", and these were added to the pots. For the insides, lined the pot with colorful tissue paper. Then we placed 2 c popcorn, a small pkg of gum, peppermint candies, and a couple mini chocolate bars into a large baggie. The youth were invited to pass around God's blessings through their neighborhood. Here is a small list of the "May" verses.
We highlighted and underlined each of the "May" words.

May the Lord, the God of your ancestors, increase you a thousand times more and bless you, as he has promised you! Deuteronomy 1:11

May the Lord give strength to his people! May the Lord bless his people with peace! Psalm 29:11

May the glory of the Lord endure forever; may the Lord rejoice in his works— Psalm 104:31

May the Lord, maker of heaven and earth, bless you from Zion. Psalm 134:3

May the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God and to the steadfastness of Christ. 2 Thessalonians 3:5

Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in all ways. The Lord be with all of you. 2 Thessalonians 3:16

May God give you of the dew of heaven, and of the fatness of the earth, and plenty of grain and wine. Genesis 27:28

May you be blessed by the Lord, who made heaven and earth. Psalm 115:15

May you be made strong with all the strength that comes from his glorious power, and may you be prepared to endure everything with patience, while joyfully Colossians 1:11

Of course, don't forget to tell the kids that "if" they get caught, they will received a kiss from the catcher! They never know what to think about that bit of information!!
