Late November we will launch a new version of rotation.org that will have all new code behind it.
You will see:
♦ some new layout ♦ some new features and graphics ♦ much better navigational options and layout on smartphones and tablets ♦ and all the lessons and resources will automatically be moved over!
Hoop.laour website's "software engine" has been completely re-written to make the site 100% compatible with the wide array of devices and screen sizes people browse with these days: smartphones, tablets, and PCs. The technical term for this is "responsive design" and it is the result of the mobile internet revolution.
Over half of all internet traffic is now by MOBILE DEVICE, which means website text, graphics, layout, and menus need to be able to adjust to mobile devices and tablets, and run faster on them.
We are currently testing the Beta version of the site, and will continue to make adjustments after the launch. Watch for the November launch announcement via email.
BTW: Is your church's website Mobile Friendly?
BTW #2: Metaphorically speaking, is your church's program "responsive" to the wide array of people's needs? Or are your offerings still designed for people from the 1970's?
Everyone can read the Writing Team's Bible Background and Lesson Summaries for these two sets. Supporting Members can read and print the lessons.Join today.
These two new sets are part of our Writing Team Improvement Project. Watch for the "Improved & Updated" logo in the Writing Team Menu.
This time of year, some of us feel like this guy ⇒
While discussing this month's newsletter, each of our Board members lamented what a BUSY time of year this is for all of us in Christian education.
Throwing fuel on that fire, they also noted that Advent is just around the corner!
It may be genetic!
Teaching Sunday School is a big commitment, and thus, it tends to attract people who are unafraid of saying "yes" to many things. They also tend to be those who are passionate about faith and about children, to the point of being sacrificial. While others sleep in on Sunday, Sunday School teachers drag themselves out of bed knowing it's more than worth the effort. They are called.
What this means is that our teachers need extra care, especially this time of year when the calendar is filling up with other commitments.
Advice from our team to yours:
1. Look for new simpler ways to accomplish your goals. For example, our team shared ideas about simpler alternatives to Christmas Pageants this Advent. (Another way to say this, is to give your teachers a break.) Leaders: create simpler approaches that don't burn out teachers.
2. Ask for help, and send it! Creative people tend to act in solitary ways, but most tasks are more pleasant and rewarding when shared. Leaders: help teachers by being there to help.
3. Remind each other that Jesus called us not only to serve, but to REST in him. While you're scheduling everything else, schedule extra time for devotion, prayer, contemplation, and yes, naps! Leaders: create breaks in the schedule.
4. Do not create a calendar that overwhelms you.
Only be Overwhelmed by God.
Enjoy...
