This topic is collecting lesson ideas and resources for teaching Isaiah passages OTHER THAN the usual Advent related passages (Isaiah 9, Isaiah 40) which are found in our Advent forum.

Suggestions in this topic include ideas for Isaiah 6 (Holy Holy Holy, Send me).

Why don't we have much on Isaiah?
Because most Sunday Schools don't spend time in Isaiah, except for the two passages mentioned above. It's also due to our origins collecting lesson resources for Rotation Model Sunday Schools who only teach "major" Bible stories, and thus, don't find themselves knocking around the prophets too much with kids.

We are the CLAY, You are the POTTER

Isaiah 64:8

Yet you, Lord, are our Father.
  We are the clay, you are the potter;
we are all the work of your hand.

Isaiah 45:9

“Woe to him who strives with him who formed him, a pot among earthen pots! Does the clay say to him who forms it, ‘What are you making?’ or ‘Your work has no handles’?

Video short from Sourceflix:

The Potter:

See the discussion/description of OOBLECK -- cornstarch and water "clay" that returns to liquid form if the "potter's hands" stop forming it. Great demonstration about needing The Potter's Hands to keep shaping us!

Here's a great song for older kids and you on the subject of "Lord keep making me..." from Sidewalk Prophets. Song starts around 1:30.

Make me broken so I can be healed
'Cause I'm so calloused and now I can't feel
I want to run to You
With heart wide open
Make me broken
Make me empty so I can be filled
'Cause I'm still holding onto my will
And I'm completed
When You are with me
Make me empty
'Til You are my one desire
'Til You are my one true love
'Til You are my breath, my everything
Lord, please keep making me
Make me lonely so I can be whole
'Til I want no one more than You, Lord
'Cause in the darkness, I know you will hold me
Make me lonely
'Til You are my one desire
'Til You are my one true love
'Til You are my breath, my everything
Lord, please keep making me
