The lesson plans, ideas, and resources in this "General" forum about Jesus' Birth tend to cover the "entire" story of Jesus' birth, rather than focusing on individual parts or persons in it. Check our other Advent story forums for lessons that are more specific to particular persons or episodes, such as angels, Mary, shepherds, Magi, etc. Don't forget the Writing Team's extra creative Advent lesson sets too!

A great resource for extra time (something to occupy students who arrive early) as well as filling time between worship and Sunday school is the coloring posters from Illustrated Children's Ministry.  They are a great tool for inter-generational sitting and chatting while coloring if you put them out in a gathering area.

I put little tent cards on the tables with discussion starter questions for the adults to use with the children they were coloring with (we used them between Sunday school and worship as well as during a pot luck lunch after worship).

The 2018 posters would be particularly helpful for starting conversations related to what is happening in the rotation workshops if you are doing the WT Mary Accepts, Magnifies, and Ponders set   as they focus on Mary's Song

Need help talking about Santa Claus?

Here is a good thoughtful piece on telling the kids the truth about Saint Nicholas, leading to a discussion of worship, service, faith, and generosity embodied by the historical figure. Good starter for life application discussion,

(There is also a free coloring sheet that goes along with discussion points)
