DVD #8 "Words to Make Us Wise" from the What's in the Bible? Series of kid-friendly videos created by Phil Vischer (of Veggie Tales fame).

DVD 8 covers Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes

This is creatively presented and humorous Sunday School material.

I've see it and peg the age range on DVD #8 at Grades 2-7.

Only Chapter 5 on the DVD covers Psalms, but it gives a good OVERVIEW about what is a Psalm, what kinds, etc.

Chapter 5: "Songs (Psalms) in the Bible"  (about 9 minutes long)

  • Church Lady begins to talk about Psalms.
  • Pastor Paul explains what the word "Psalms" means.
  • Pirate Pete and Church Lady explain types of Psalms
  • Psalms of David (by or about or for David)
  • Psalm 23 spoken and explained.
  • The Book of Psalms is the people talking back to God.
  • A summary "Song about Psalms" followed by a summary by Phil.

Disclaimer: I sell these widely regarded DVDs at my website and have free outlines to them. You can buy the DVDs online from many sources.  They're really good, and definitely fun with teaching purpose! Just watch your age-range. <>< Neil
