Feb 14, 2023 ~ 'Looking Back and Looking Forward"

Looking Back & Looking Forward @ Rotation.org

Wormy-LookingBack2022 was quite a year at Rotation.org and we've got great plans for 2023 and beyond!  See "2022 by the numbers" below.

Last month our volunteer Board of Directors held its biennial two-day board retreat over Zoom to review site content, priorities, outreach, finances, statistics, and membership. We also did a lot of brainstorming and prepping for the year(s) ahead. Here's a photo of all of us still smiling after hours of great discussion!

Board-2023

Outside of meeting together, each board member has several RESPONSIBILITIES, including keeping an eye on new content, suggesting changes to existing content, suggesting and contributing new content, overseeing our webmaster and finances, and helping with the Writing Team.  Each board member also takes a turn welcoming new members and reaching out to existing members. With nearly 10,000 of you, it's a BIG task, but we enjoy doing it and have met many wonderful people through it.

One of the BIG CHANGES AHEAD is the formation of volunteer website ministry TEAMS. We are looking for members to help us with website administration, Coffee Chat planning, content editing, and marketing on our site and beyond.  You can volunteer now or watch for general invitations (and maybe even a personal "ask") coming your way in the coming weeks and months.

We're also expanding and on the lookout for NEW Directors! If you'd like to be considered for the Board or any of the ministry teams, email Amy Crane, our president. The pay is lousy but the benefits are awesome!

Of course, MONEY is always a big topic. Being 100% funded by contributions and annual Supporting Memberships, we're always in need of more people and churches to step up. If you love what's happening at Rotation.org and can help us meet our funding challenges with a special gift, please let us know or donate now.

By the Numbers ~ 2022 in Review

SIX
The number of free continuing education Coffee Chats on Zoom. We shared bright ideas for Advent, Lent, teaching with software and apps, and great ideas for summer children's ministry. More to come in 2023!

TWENTY-FIVE
The number of years in existence we celebrated with a Zoom birthday party, sharing of rotation stories, a fundraiser, and bringing together a Dream Team to create the Let's Go! Renewal-themed Lessons, Ideas, Rally Events, and Worship Resource Forum.

THREE
The number of new Writing Team lesson sets we wrote: Creation, the Parables of the Lost Coin and the Lost Sheep, and the Parable of the Good Samaritan.

SIX
The number of Interactive Kids Bible programs donated by their owner to our collection of downloadable Bible software for kids.

FORTY-SIX THOUSAND
The number of dollars we need to keep our site up and running in 2023. Doesn't sound like much when you think of how enormous our site is (or how much money publishers spend on their stuff), but to us, it is a big hurdle and we could use a few more boosters. Read here for how you can help.

FOUR
The number of Concordia University marketing class students who reviewed our site and developed a marketing plan for our consideration (which is to say, we are constantly looking at ways to improve).

TWELVE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED and TWENTY-SEVEN
The number of dollars donated in 2022 fundraisers. We count on special giving to make our budget. Make a donation today.

SIX HUNDRED and NINETEEN
The number of Supporting Members who make this site possible! These awesome people donate $45/year to help maintain our site and bring our creative resources to the world. Most people probably think this number is much higher, but it just goes to show how important our Supporting Members are to keeping our site afloat—and why they get access to special resources.

NINE-THOUSAND
The approximate number of registered free members in our community.  Some are "one and done," but some have been with us for years.

THREE HUNDRED SIXTY-FIVE
The number of days a year a group of children's ministry people are standing by in our Teachers Lounge to help you with lesson ideas and resource questions. This feature is one of the things that makes Rotation.org unique.

ONE
Lord and Savior of us all whose story we love to teach and to whom Rotation.org is dedicated.

Thank you for being part of Rotation.org's creative Sunday School ministry!
