Fruit of the Spirit Intergenerational Summer Lesson Series

First Presbyterian Church, Napa CA
Summer 2003 (Updated in 2016)

This unit was designed to be done with families. If we have children who attend without their parents, we will include them in with one of our "core" church families.

Week one will be an "overview" lesson, followed by 9 weeks - a different "fruit" each week. This allows for families to come and go on vacations, with each Sunday being a "stand alone" lesson.

We will be giving each family a journal on their first week of joining us. Sometimes they will begin working on it during "classtime" and sometimes they will just work on it at home. Each subsequent week they'll receive more pages to work on and add to. A brief description of what is on each journal page will be within the lesson.

Each week will focus on one fruit and there will be 2 workshops. Families will be split into 2 groups with each group going to one workshop for 25 min. and then switching. Some weeks there will only be one workshop.

Each lesson is posted as a "reply" to keep them separate and not so long! I'll include notes as I can of what did and didn't work.

Editor's Note (2016):  Journal Sheets

Jan has since retired, so in 2016 Luanne Payne on behalf of Rotation.org, created a set of Journal pages using the brief descriptions Jan provided in her lessons.  The only one that did not have a description was Goodness, so a new one was created by Luanne.
Workshop Overviews with Supply Lists
As Luanne was reformatting each of the below lessons for readability and adding summaries and a supply lists for each lesson she decided to also create a two page "Weekly Workshop Overview & Supply List" for ease of planning and gathering supplies for this series of workshops.
Both are posted in the last post in this forum (found below) here.
