Lesson Plan

Opening:

Look at pictures of Saul’s life. As students arrive, invite them to look at the pictures. Which pictures has the student seen before? What pictures show scenes the student can recall? What book in the Bible relates stories about Saul?

Show the map “The World Paul Knew.” Match up places with pictures. Be sure to include Jerusalem, Damascus and Rome.

Dig:

Show video, serve popcorn and juice.

Reflection:

Play story board game. Mix up 7 pictures from movie and have volunteers put them in order. Perhaps divide up the class and have each team take turns putting the pictures in order.

Play a “Match-Up” game. Put the following names on blue cards and the descriptions on red index cards. Have students sit in circle and deal out all the red description cards, put the blue name cards in a pile face down in the center. Have students take turns flipping over top blue card from pile. The player with the matching description reads and gets to keep the matching red card. Place set face up in front of the player. Game is over when all the cards have been matched. You may want to think of more match up than these 10.
